The recipients of the 2019 国际 Law Certificate were honored in a ceremony held on May 9. Berkeley Law 和 the Annual Meeting of the 美国国际法学会 — March 2019
The Annual Meeting of the 美国国际法学会 (ASIL), held each spring in Washington DC, is the largest and most important gathering of international law practitioners, policymakers, 和 scholars. This year’s edition on the theme of “国际 Law as an Instrument” was held on March 27-30, 2019.
教授 秋刀鱼穆罕默德 moderated a session on “Emerging Accountability Mechanisms: Innovative or Ineffective?.” 布莱恩·伊根 (’00) spoke at a panel on “International Law as a Counterweight to Power Asymmetries in 国际 Politics” 和 participated in a tabletop simulation on “Atrocity Prevention Decision-Making in the US 走vernment.” The Miller Institute sponsored a March 29 reception, hosted by 教授穆罕默德·, for Berkeley Law students, faculty, and alumni who attended the Annual Meeting to honor the memory of former ASIL President 和 Berkeley Law 教授 戴维·卡伦 （'83）。
In recognition of the important role that student-edited international law journals play in the dissemination of international legal scholarship, ASIL inaugurated a new program as part of the Annual Meeting: the 国际 Law Review Editors Roundtable.
